Cantley's British Sugar Factory has installed a new modular, gas-fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant in an effort to reduce the site's carbon footprint. According to British Sugar, "This project will help to reduce Cantley's site emissions by 16,000 tonnes of carbon a year, and is set up for fuel flexibility too. " The power plant is set to become fully-functional and integrated into the factory operations in time for the 25/26 campaign. You can read more about British Sugar's decarbonisation plans here. Cantley is part of the Norfolk Climate Change Partnership, working together with other small communities to tackle climate change, ensuring prosperity for the future generations of Norfolk by building healthy, resilient and sustainable communities and environments. Find out more about the Norfolk Climate Change Partnership here. We encourage British Sugar's decarbonisation goals for a better, healthier environment now and for generations to come.
