Former Cantley School Association makes generous donation to our village hall

At our November meeting, we were joined by Annick Wrench, a representative of the former Cantley School Association, to deliver the check for a generous donation.

As most locals know, Cantley School closed before the beginning of the current school year, as a result of decreasing numbers of new pupils. The Cantley School Association has decided to entrust the Cantley Village Hall CIO with their remaining funds of £4,000, that are to be invested towards new play equipment where the current play area stands, outside of the village hall.

We accept this generous donation with a sad heart, as no small community wants to be left without a school. However, we put our hopes into the future and continue our hard work to attract funding for our new hall.

We thank the Cantley School Association for their commitment to improve the lives of children in our small village and wish all members the best of luck in future community-oriented ventures!
